Hour Glasses

Grind the sands of time and pour them over your vision

You have the microwave timer set to remind you to move your laundry from the washer to the drier.

Then someone else overwrites your setting and sets the microwave timer to remind them that the casserole in the oven needs to come out soon.

Then you forget about the laundry up in the laundry room.

But once you've purchased a set of Hour Glasses™, you'll always have a good time(r).

Hour Glasses™ are oversize glasses frames that fit over prescription lensed frames, or may be worn as a fashionable standalone.

Each eye side has a recess for installing the sand glass of the appropriate interval - One, five, ten, or thirty minutes.

Whatever you are engaged in, the trickling sand constantly in your view helps you to remember when to move the laundry from the washing machine/take out the casserole/retrieve the laundry from the drier.

Available in a variety of frame styles and colors, with additional sand glasses for other stock or custom timeframes by order.

Do they come in a sandy colour?

       "my clothes dryer"

Oh, so one of the upper crust who has their own clothes dryer.
normzone, Nov 30 2021

Yes some of us have worked hard to earn enough money and class that we no longer need to dry our clothes in the microwave.
pocmloc, Nov 30 2021

I thought this was going to be ordinary glasses with a subtle LED clock that can be referred to discreetly. It isn't though.

It's interesting, maybe have an absolutely tiny hourglass carefully magnified so as to only be visible to the user.

Ah, this was a good, if unreliable method of drying clothes back in England. Here on the US east coast, clothes dry very rapidly outside, in summer at least, and you may retrieve them covered in pollen, several insects, the vague smell of sewage and with significant UV damage.

       Eye think this is silica.

Re: all the sunshine comments... sometimes I forget I live in an awesome country & don't suffer the way the rest of the world does.

Well then... forget sunshine. The best way to dry clothes is to hang them out on a line at minus 30 or so. They freeze solid in just a few seconds.
Give them a good flap, all of the ice crystals leave and they're dry. Ready to fold.

       Beat that micro waves.

I think he doth underestimate East Coast pollen...

//Does England not have insects and pollen? How do the plants grow there?//

Yeah, up to a point. But I'm guessing that pollen doesn't float so far in damp air. And, as for the insects, see link re. "the insects that get depressed".

On a summer evening around thirty years ago, I was walking on Hampstead Heath with an American couple, and they were puzzled by how few insects were around. The plants manage somehow.
