Half a croissant, on a plate, with a sign in front of it saying '50c'

Still more entertaining than cricket.

Terrorist kidnap eight contestants at random. Everyday, the contestents pelad for their life, explaining why /they/, rather than anyone else, should be set . After they plead, the audience votes for the contestent they think should be set free. The one with the least votes is then shot. When only one hostage is still alive, they are released, and they win the $1,000,000.

       What do the terrorists get?
PotatoStew, Mar 23 2001

[PotatoStew] Probably a parade down Main Street.

Russian Roulette via audience participation? Only if I get to pick the hostages: Geraldo Rivera, Craig Kilborn, Joe Pesci, Shannen Doherty, Joan Rivers, Jessica Alba, Darva Conger, and Jeff Probst.

One of the more ignorant observations that I have read on the Halfbakery
gnomethang, Jul 02 2008

Yes, it's quite obvious that it should be "go over well", "go over good" is just terrible English.

...and the point of trawling up this drivel from the Bakery cellar was?
xenzag, Jul 03 2008

//One of the more ignorant observations that I have read on the Halfbakery// I simply picked those two examples as governments with less than stellar human rights records. excuse my ignorance.
ServoMan314, Jul 04 2008

So, when you said "Cuba" you meant "Guantanamo"?
coprocephalous, Jul 04 2008

I am not about to excuse the ignorant comment because this is not about Governments.
I don't think that ANY human individual takes gratification in suffering, torture and murder of another human being - much less when it is a TV Show. That said, if you were to look for that sort of behaviour then a reality TV audience isn't a bad place to start.
BTW I didn't accuse you of ignorance, I merely described the comment as ignorant.

//I don't think that ANY human individual takes gratification in suffering//
I wonder why Big Brother was once so popular.
AbsintheWithoutLeave, Jul 04 2008

Yup, That's why I kind of qualified the statement!

//the one with the least votes is then shot.//

The one with the 'fewest' votes surely?
