Hospital bed foot controls

Patients confined to bed in hospital can (especially if they are elderly) permanently lose the ability to walk due to lack of use of their legs leading to muscle wastage and the tendons which hold the feet perpendicular to the legs relaxing.

To solve this, hosptals should give patients more to do with their feet - the controls to operate the 'Nurse call' button, raise/lower the bed, turn the television on, etc. should all be foot operated.
