A gift given (posibly at Christmas), which will
work it's way back to the sender.
This could possibly be implemented using stealth tactics during the confusion of Boxing day. Or possibly by inserting a small homing pigeon,
who will fly home with the present on nightfall.
A Homesick Present . . .

What, you've never experienced the time-hoary tradition of "re-gifting"? Some of us have been giving and getting back the same leaden fruitcakes and tasteless ties year after year after year with no additional invention necessary. |

so sad. merry xmas, jurist. return not necessary. |

Sadder still Christmas Day annotations. (My feeble excuse is that we're sleet/hail/snowed in.) |
|

Nope. Where I am christmas is traditionally celebrated
with a BBQ on the beach, prawns and all. |

DrCurry - I thought you guys would get hit with the wide berth of the wicked storm Left-Coasters had in the form of lots and lots of water just a few days prior. Perhaps the rat's nest is as good a place as any to post an early warning system of Left Coast to NY to UK... Left Coast... weather patterns. |

just buy "stuff that gets sad when stolen" for your
victims... I mean "friends"... |

What happens to edible presents that have already been consummed? Your pigeon would look pretty daft ,and probably feel daft as well, just padding around on somebody's stomach wondering how exactly it's going to return the thing. |

She would wait, to fly back with the remains. |

Is bagel perhaps of Scottish heritage? Would this be a gift with strings actually attached? What if the givee really liked the gift? How would you look when that matched set of nutcracker salt and pepper shakers got up and walked back to your house? Imagine a police APB for wayward plastic cherubim. The streets would be jammed with, among other self-returning gifts, anthropomorphised carol-singing penguins wearing tiny red festive toques, not to mention skies filled with pigeons bearing gifts like polar fleece golf-club covers and DVD rewinders. |

No, bagel, I cannot give a croissant for this idea, considering its big-picture implications. |

bristolz - thumbs up for Homer. |
