Err, this hasn't happened on here yet I think (there is a mention of "baud rate of a homing pigeon network" - RayfordSteele, Aug 13 2002)...
I can think of two versions.
1.10 Is the luddite version - one pigeon (carrying another pigeon in a sling) and the message.
Pigeon 1 homes to the receipient,
who takes the message, switches Pigeon 1 and Pigeon 2 around, so Pigeon 1 gets a bit of a lie-down in the sling and Pigeon 2 then flys them both back to the mail sorting office or whatever.
1.11 is more hi-tech and only needs 1 pigeon.
The pigeon has a natty little cap strapped on, with a miniaturized Transcranial magnetic stimulation rig, which fools into thinking it's going home again after delivering the letter.

Yes, there is an actual RFC for "IP over Avian Carriers". |
Using TF cards, the effective baud rate can be very high, but is
range-dependant. |
Strangely, no-one has suggested using swallows, which can travel
intercontinental distances. |
But that depends on how much they are carrying, surely... |
Perhaps two of them could carry a TF card slung between them,
on a strand of creeper? |
Are racing pigeons microchipped? If so, can they be hacked? |
But then surely you'd need two pigeons who are from the
same home, or else the strand would be lost. And good
luck with that, as pigeons are just like any other type of
bird, can never quite agree on anything. I have a sister and
a mother, I know. |

Tell them both that whatever they're currently wearing makes their bum look big. |
You'll discover that they are entirely in agreement about hating you and wanting you to die a slow, painful death, starting right now. |
