Some people like to listen to music while they exercise; others like to watch TV. Personally, I'm an Internet junkie, and the big obstacle to me spending more time exercising is that I'd have to spend that time away from the Web. So we add a USB port to one of those home gym weight machines (the kind that combines 18 different exercises into one unit). Before you start a workout, you load up a large web page, such as a discussion forum or a list of blonde jokes. The machine is configured so that each rep scrolls the page down a preset number of lines.

It's adjustable too. If you're trying to work on your endurance (or you're just a slow reader) you can reduce the number of lines scrolled per rep. If you're trying to do a faster aerobic workout, you can increase it. And rather than keeping a running count of the number of reps you've done, the workout is simply over when you reach the bottom of the page.

I am annotating this idea by leaping from key to key on a giant keyboard in my private gym.
