A computer with all casing and (feasible) mechanical parts made entirely of hardwood.

You press a wooden dowel, and two wooden gears roll out a wood tray for your dvd.

Your moniter has knots and grain lines.

Your mouseclicks are extremely satisfying and the place right under your index finger is nicely worn oak.

Your neighbors want it.

``If you made it out of cedar, it would stop the moths from eating your computer. Oh, but that doesn't happen anyway.

Since it exists, you wood be able to have one if some exceptionally kind soul provided a link to where you could buy it.

Not convinced by the products on [half]'s link. They're made from fine wood, so carefully crafted and finished that they look like fake wood trim in cars. Nicely worn oak, however, is much more tempting.

If I ever have the time, dedication and skill, I might try to create a wooden mouse.

       [david_scothern] You forgot "inclination".
hippo, Feb 01 2005

       Surely that anno implied inclination?

I think [Bris] just deleted her anno, something along the lines of, "Your neighbours have an open fireplace and they're cold." Shame, 'cos I quite liked it. Nontheless, I shall get rid of it, too, if requested.

I remember seeing a web page with a "wooden television screen". The image was formed by hundreds of solenoid moveable wooden blocks with dark wood on one side and light wood on the other. A processor flipped the blocks to create an image, the text noted that there was a noticable clattering sound of hundreds of wood blocks as the image was displayed. I can't seem to find the web site.

Nice. I've seen monitors with bamboo borders. Not sure it it was real or just a veneer.

For some reason, I find the video of that wooden mirror in action to be unbelievably tedious. I like the mirror though.
