Oh for the great bakers of times past...

Giants who walked this land ere time began.

In vain those who follow after seek their truth,

Kings who saw the Halfbakery's youth.

It seems to me that tantalising glimpses of past bakers remain amongst the deleted annos that litter older ideas. Who were these people? Some sort of obaketuary (sorry) would be a nice thing to have... maybe people could be prompted to update their profile page one last time before deleting their accounts. Future bakers could then know a bit about their forebears.

Sheesh - what about Big Thor?!

And [UnaBubba], too, has gone to the great croissant factory in the sky. <sniffle>

Not many of the bakers in the emerging list above are *deleted* as such though are they? Only [alcin]...

UnaBubba's definitely about, although the last post I saw from him was met with "Now look what you've done... you've aroused the demon from his slumbers"...

DrFowler didn't leave. She was taken, but her account remains.

I would suspect (with admittedly very little basis) that as many accounts have been nuked by the site owner and her helpers as have been deleted by their owners. The profile pages of deactivated accounts may be more a Hall of Infamy than a Walk of Fame.

Perhaps if the font were different?

I rather like it like this.
