In the Halfbakery.
I'm pretty sure there's others, I'll post them as I come across
them.

The Ravings of an Eedjit (Poem No.1) (Based on
Ozymandias by Percy Shelley) |
|
|
I met a surfer from a half-baked site who said: One
croissant and a pile of bones Stand by my idea. |
|
|
And beneath, in harsh annos, half sunk, my shattered
posting
lies, whose prose And spelling poor, and mix of many
tense Tell that its author was not well read. Which yet
survive, writ on the world wide web, |
|
|
By pedants mocked
and newbies shred; And on my posting these words
appear: |
|
|
We should use nanobots, and GM tech; Why
cant we all just learn to share? |
|
|
Nothing beside remains.
Round the decay of that vast WIBNI, heated and terse, |
|
|
The flames stretch down the page. |

Well Baked! (Also based on Ozymandias by Percy Shelley) |
|
|
I met a baker from a far off land who saidSpeed bumps
like custard soft, my dreams of wealth, and great
acclaim. |
|
|
Shattered though with posts of fury. Sarcastic cold
like cutting blades tell this baker well what came before.
For on those annos these words appear: |
|
|
"THIS IS WELL BAKED! LOOK UPON THESE LINKS AND
DESPAIR!" |
|
|
Nothing but the bones remain, of that colossal
dream. Bun-less and barren, into the vast and endless
history files. It fades into time. |

There is a halfbakery: poetry category (link) but I'll just drop this here for your pleasure:-
Whose idea this? I think I know.
It's point emerges awful slow;
I try to read until the end
But concentration's not my friend.
Science buzzwords used within
But actual science seems quite thin.
No expert I, so lose my track,
And skip the rest to read it back.
So many syllables to scan
But I'll get through it if I can.
Attention wanders, meaning lost.
I find I channel Robert Frost.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep. |
|
|
That's some Russian poet right? And sleep means
die? |
|
|
That's me trying to be a fancy lad who knows
something about poetry. I don't, I just heard the
Ozymandias thing from the TV show Breaking Bad
and
liked it. |
|
|
If there's already a category this is probably at
least a bit toasted if not totally baked. That being
said, on the off chance that other's aren't familiar
with the poem we both "modified" here it is: |

Ozymandias by Percy Shelley |
|
|
I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who saidTwo vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless
things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that
fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away. |
|
|
"That's some Russian poet right?"
No, that's Robert Frost. |
|
|
"And sleep means die?"
That's how I have always read it. |
|
|
Well, got it half right anyway. |
