Halfbakery Graveyard

 For those of us that get attached to ideas and would like to grieve a while.

Have you ever seen an idea you liked that disappeared the next day? Well I have and it sucks. Sometimes I've even posted an especially witty or interesting comment (really - stop laughing - if only you were there...) and the next time I log on, anticipating a witty reply I find nothing.

I propose a halfbakery graveyard - a place where ideas go to die. You can still comment on them, but they're removed from the normal pages so they don't distract people who don't care about dead ideas.

I understand the storage issues, and can sympathize. Perhaps let the dead ideas decompose over time - completely delete them after a month or so. Or e-mail them all to me. I'll post them somewhere and at least I can see them. Maybe I'll print my favorites out and make a scrapbook of the ideas I've loved and lost.

BTW: RIP miniature sculptures or whatever you were called.

       Theres a lot of stuff out there that could do with deleting.One of the problems is that people delete their accounts which messes up the flow of the anno's.I've noticed some ideas that are only around for a couple of days but I thought they went because the person who originally posted the idea deleted it.

       Its a nice idea; but if I may be allowed to build on it:   

       I have noticed quite a few obit notices for former members. Instead of having a cemetary for former ideas, why not have one instead for former members? A place where their ideas can be kept to be read and where other members can put up their deepest condolences for them.

1) There weren't grounds for [M-F-D], and
2) Enough people asked for it to be kept.		   

       If an idea slips quietly into the bit bucket, it was probably meant to be.

       Some people are compelled to eradicate their accounts and all their ideas to assuage their otherwise unassuagable grumpiness. Such people might feel that the graveyard was not adequate eradication. Perhaps in the graveyard, the names of creators and annotators could disappear as well, leaving only disembodied ideas.

Also I think RIP is a bit extreme as there was obviously someone to delete the account. I wouldn't start buying funeral wear just yet.
Does anyone actually know what happened to Mr Oniony.
Also (again) this idea seems more about remembering past ideas rather than users. Although I would say that many of [oniony]'s ideas were worth being kept.
