Half Bachelors degree
" I graduated from the Halfbakery, and now I've got a great job in an exciting field !" | |
Offer four levels of degrees equivalant to the AA, Bachelors, Masters, and PhD in Halfbaking.
Once accreditation is achieved, this should be as good a ticket as Princeton or MIT.
Having the creativity and discipline required to obtain one of these degrees is certain to gain you recognition....
Kinda Like This
http://www.cynicalbastards.com/ubs/ My major was Arse-Elbow Differentiation. Didn't learn much, though. [egbert, Oct 05 2004, last modified Oct 21 2004]

Hmmm... built in grading system, interaction with peers... all that's missing is verifiable knowledge. |
[normzone] brilliant idea. but here is my question.. a degree in what? ++++ |
Perhaps scroll through the idea categories and choose the first column and / or two as potential majors.... |
I suppose we'd probably be required to complete several categories and there would be some elective categories as well.... |
well you got my vote anyway |
yeah gotta give you, my vote! |
//a degree in what?// Well, halfbaking! The degree certifies that you have the ability not to just think outside the box, but outside reality. Your grade depends on your ability to: - present and sell unreal ideas (measured by number of croissants) - withstand the hardship of criticism (measured by number of fishbones) - grab attention (measured by sum of croissants and fishbones) - find majorities (measured by difference of croissants and fishbones) |

Half PhDs would be highly sought after as developers of new political ideas and organizers of presidential campaigns. |
I might enjoy a major in Business:Bar, with a minor in Culture:Sex.... |

Got a nice ring to it. (+) |

MBA: Master of Bakery Arts. |
BSC: Business: Supermarket: Checkout |
Dang, I'm failing fishbone 101. |
half, we may have to send you to remedial troll class. Now repeat after me. LOL D00DZ. |
I think that "I got fishboned and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" has better potential |
I'm on the fence. Oh, here! Take a fluffie! |
A major in other:general would have a stigma similar to a BA(Basket Weaving) (yes, they do have it at a uni here) |
where is Dr. Curry?.. I kinda miss him! |
<Little Britain> I want one </Little Britain>
As a word of caution, this would mean that baker [hazel] would have far too many letters after her name - more in fact, than she has *in* her name. Bleedin' showoff. |
Is it possible to fail? Or do you just keep trying until you get some kind of micky mouse degree in other:metaphysics? |
Either way, I'm willing to work harder for one. Just as soon as inspiration strikes again anyway. |

"I've decided to major in Undecided. I might even go for my PhD." - Real Life |
nom? email me I will give you good counsel. |
Can I get a diploma scrawled in crayon on the back of a Denny's kid's menu? Make mine out for Taoism/Motorcycle Disassembly ... I'll send you a few bucks too ... |
Neatly solves the scheduling problem of earning a degree while working full time. - Not to imply that anyone 'bakes at work, of course. |
Quite the contrary, [Shz] - I believe working while baking is more appropriate ... |
You're right. Education should be priority #1. |
I'm assuming Jutta will be the
chancellor. |
Time to draft those "Dear Alumni"
letters and print up the little return
envelopes. |
Will I be able to get a halfbakery branded credit card like my mailbox tells me I can for other educational institutions? |
Halfbaked Visa? Not sure I want that, unless it's on the back of a comb. |
BTW, [normzone], very nice. What are the extracurriculars at this university? Can I transfer credits from other websites? Can you earn Honors in punning or sarcasm? Who's my advisor? Are there dorms? When does this term's coursebook come out? |
What are your office hours? |
Ooh - what "marked-for-expiration" date did you get on yours? |
[k_sra] , I thought you'd never ask. YOU can reach me anytime...I'll be your advisor, and you can dorm with me...Pending, of course, on the chemistry between you and my girlfriend. |
Extracurriculars? Well, we have freediving, mountainbiking, and wining-and-dining teams...being a new school we're still working out a few details. |
Transferring credits from other sites is subject to approval by Jutta, and the coursebook is undergoing revision at this moment on this page. Not sure who's going to be in charge of the honors list, but I doubt it will be limited to punning and sarcasm.... |
I don't think I need a dorm room after all, but pencil me in for an appointment with your girlfriend... |
Now that you've graduated, will you be leaving soon? |
it was your question really! |
[k_sra] If you don't get on with [nz]'s gf, there is always room in my dorm... |
Come on waugs, shirly you know that you can log out any time you like, but you can never leave? |
nw: DrCurry is currently on sabbatical, following an unfortunate incident involving the Principal's administrative assistant, ten gallons of paint, the women's lacrosse team, and two cats. |
[Dr. C] Damn but we missed you. when do you come back ? I have posted so many ideas for your wrath. |
..and if the second cat hadn't wandered in, DrCurry might just have gotten away with it and might not now be on sabbatical. |
That was the week you painted everything green, wasn't it? |
So be sure to sign your kids up for Halfbakery kindergarten and rest assured they are well on their way to earning the Halfbakery Bachelors Debree. |
Presumably, having reread the preamble, the Great Job in the Exciting Field is holding the string attached to the Water Buffalo rather than the less great job of shovelling its manure. |
I think I may get a PhD in Pedantry. |
i can't stop eating the glue. |
You can't stop lowercasing the word 'I', either, can you? :) Maybe the problems are connected. |
For my honors thesis, I'm going to do a paper on Perpetual Emotion. |
Damn it, gratuitous churn here. [shapu], they have machines to do that now. |
+ sorry I wasn't here at the time, so a very belated bun!!
I was looking for the degree for confetti making... |
achieved in half the time too. |
