Like a science fair sort of. Walk into the gym and see all the wacky inventions being demonstrated at the various student created displays. Everybody votes for the coolest thing at the end of the day.

Winner gets a scholorship or something.

Might be better than current science fairs. https://images.huff...cience_board570.jpg

[+] First, we have to have a list of practical and unbaked ideas. Are there any that haven't been bashed out?

       Mark-For-Making.

       Why the negativity?
pashute, Nov 01 2023

       Agreed.

Yea, be curious to see what that bone's about. This is just people having fun being creative, sounds like a good thing to me. I'll assume it's the autoboner.

Gonna look up some science fairs and see if anybody might want to try this. I think people would go to them. Lots more interesting than seeing a display of "How to measure salinity in sea water."

Could be fun, and a useful demonstration of why some products, while being possible, are not made
hippo, Nov 01 2023

Exactly. Even if they didn't work there'd be entertainment value.
doctorremulac3, Nov 01 2023

Yes, quite - for example here (see link) is one of my ideas that is simple to make with basic engineering and mechanical skills, but which would be stupid and also contravene several bits of vehicle safety legislation
hippo, Nov 01 2023

That would be a perfect project, exactly.

Went to bun it but already had, jesus, 18 years ago. Wow time flies.

There's so much collective creativity on this site from over the years, somebody needs to expand it into the rest of society and this would be a great way to do it in my opinion.

       Very cool.
blissmiss, Nov 01 2023

Thank you Blissy, if I get one of these going I'll send you and everybody else a free admission ticket.
doctorremulac3, Nov 01 2023

       //free ticket// 100% will attend!

Only partly relevant as it's probably not half-baked: now is the perfect time for someone to take credit and build my SS UN CitizenShip idea. Everyone's on the move with the confluence of climate and supply chain disruptions, war, economic collapse, illness and infirmity. Re-purpose those possible plague-ship cruise liners into probable plague ships with an ethical and moral purpose!
