When I woke up this morning I discovered that my forelock had been molded into a rather fetching Tin-Tin style turn up. Sadly it didnt go with my Captain Haddock outfit so I had to stick my head under the shower and get rid of it (the hairstyle, not the outfit).
Anyhow, to cut a long story
short, I propose that someone should invent hair-styling pillows that lovingly shape and mold your barnet into the desired look whilst you sleep.

Didn't / don't some women wear hair nets to bed for basically this same reason? |
Hm. I think hair-curlers are pretty well Baked. |
And on a related topic, the Africans invented pillows that let you keep your hairstyle intact overnight at least 5,000 years ago (though the word "pillow" may be misleading here - they're made out of wood). |
[DrCurry]: Are these similar to those Geishas use? [phoenix]: I heard tale that some men use these nets too, for their moustaches. |
Yeah but hair curlers take an age to put in (I'm told), DrBiriani. What I'm proposing takes away all that effort. Just lay your head down on your selected pillow and wake up in the morning with the desired hair style. I, of course, wouldn't need one because having odd clumps of hair stcking out at strange angles is the height of fashion at the moment. |

Just train all the little spiders that come out after you sleep to brush, style and spray your hair. Sorry blissmiss. |
The problem with any pillow is it will flatten the hair. I find myself with a makeshift mohawk sometimes. Damn spiders think they're funny. |
Gwenanda: apparently not: see links... |
There it is - no picture though (see link). So that's how AfroAssault keeps his afro in shape then. |
nah, he swears by the hair net method. honestly! he keeps me up all night putting in his little rags for curls. sure pulls the chicks though eh? |
If it's the effort you want to eliminate, just shave your head and get a wig. Bang it on when you wake up in the morning and Bob's your doctor. |
Eronel, that would be the 'DrCurry Method' you're describing. |
why not sleep hanging upside-down, bat-style, and
eliminate pillows. a warmth problem here, though... |
I don't get it, [DrBob], it seems like your pillow already styles your hair the way it feels like it. And by the way, Tin Tin is way hotter than Haddock. At least you don't look like Snowy... |
Anyway, I don't want to sleep on top of anything with enough intelligence to style my hair. Those little massaging pads and vibrating beds are scary enough. And please, spare us the wooden pillow. And as a card-carrying tomato, I don't have hair anyway. |
you probably need a shower in the wee hours of the morn anyway. |
You're right, I don't think a wig truly replaces the real thing except in some cases. And in principle I don't mind the hairstyling pillow thing. I don't mind sleeping on very intelligent things, that isn't to say I do so often though. |
polartomato, my pillow has capabilities which come close to hairstyling but isn't actually hairstyling per se. What I want is something with better control, something cunningly shaped to mold my hair into the desired style rather than just one at random from the HR Giger Big Book of Hairdressing.
...and how can you prefer that callow youth, Tin-Tin, over the bushy-bearded, man of the world Haddock? I'm almost at a loss for words except to say...
rubyissues, thank you for your reminder. It is nearly the middle of August so I suppose it's about time for my annual bath. |
