A bathroom scale made to look like an HP 11C Scientific Calculator. (Or some other crufty old calculator, mine just happens to be that one.)
For extra credit, actually make it work like one, with big keys that work once a user hits the "ON" button in the lower left corner. That way, if you want
to quickly calculate your body-mass index after you learn your weight, you can burn
calories Dance-Dance-Revolution style while you do it!
When the calculator is turned off, the scale just works like a digital scale.
Like this, but bigger and softer.

(?) Like this, but geekier.

Like this, only not.

I want one! What ever happened to my old HP11C? Dust to dust, silicon to ashes... |
And it should hook up to my laptop via USB (or even RS-232) for plotting. |
//Dance-Dance-Revolution style// a side to [jutta] which I had not previously imagined ;) |
This is a lovely idea. [+] |

What ever happened to the keypads that gave a mechanical click when pressed? They would give a nice feeling underfoot, and maybe would appeal in the same way as popping bubble wrap.. |
heh. I happen to be looking at my 11c now. It's a fixture on my desk. Too bad (I guess) my first calculator spoilt me. |
[jutta] I'm afraid this would encourage me to eat lots just to check my weight --- novelty factor and all that. |
It would take up way to much space if it were to incorporate the DDR option. |
Should be the 12C - you're looking for how long it takes to fully amortize a cinnamon roll |
...then weigh yourself and subtract to find the weight of 1000 digits of PI. |
should be coin operated as well, to
force the toes to become even more
articulate. I'm a real foot lover, and avid
toe sucker + |
Can this be hooked up to a pen plotter to monitor changes from one day to the next? |
well - my girls don't think so, and I get
a lot of compliments. |
[xenzag] is "my girls" a euphemism for your toes? |
no. I have a few girlfriends - bane of all
my pain and pleasure, but this is about
Jutta's idea so I won't continue this
thread of diversion. |
[21 Quest] - just try it. See what happens. (not saying I know or anything). |
+ Oh yes, and I can learn to type with my toes, too. |
But you still won't be able to calculate how much just your head weighs. |
DDR in RPN? First 1000 digits of pi [ENTER], now the first 1000 digits of phi [ENTER], plus sign...no...damn! *wheeze!* |
That's enough for one day. |
