Guns that definitely kill

Reverse of "Guns that don't kill"

Since not many people like the unlethal guns, here is the opposite extreme. Same visual component, same software, except now there are micro adjustment motors on the barrel that automatically points gun to fatal areas when the gun recognized the humanoid figure.

One shot, one kill.

Now let's see which one people hate most.

I hate 'em both. This one is slightly more reprehensible, mainly because it is derivative horseshit.
waugsqueke, Apr 15 2002

Build the technology into the bullet, it will stay on target and you can't avoid it. A miniature heat seeking missile of sorts.

This will significantly shorten the shoot-out scenes in movies.
rbl, Apr 15 2002

We can't do that rbl, otherwise John Woo's excellent "Killer" would be reduced from 2hrs to 20 mins.
mcscotland, Apr 15 2002

true. somebody should invent something to reduce titanic to 20 minutes. including the trailers.
rbl, Apr 15 2002

rbl, bris has already done exactly that. (See Lunchtime Movie Shorts.)
waugsqueke, Apr 15 2002

What we need are those smart bombs you get in games like Defender that kill all the villains with 100% accuracy but leave the heroes and innocent people. Oh, did someone say WIBNI?
pottedstu, Apr 15 2002

They have those smart guns in movies, the bad guys fire 23million rounds and not one hit, the good guy has one shot at 4 miles with a pellet gun and kills all of them. (re: Titanic, I'm sure the best parts were left on the cutting room floor - the blank frames)
rbl, Apr 15 2002

Um, I haven't followed the discussion on the guns that don't kill yet(I'm headed there next), but wouldn't this be kind of a moot point if the person you were aiming at is running. Like [rbl] said, build the tech. into the bullet, not the gun. And aren't bullets sort of shaped like a cylinder with a point on one end, where are the flaps that it would need to direct itself. You would be better off with a smart bomb like [pottedstu] suggests.

ravenwood: Sounds like Dial-a-Smite (see link).
Aristotle, Apr 15 2002

Maybe the gun could fire a soft rubber ball instead of a bullet.

But it would use the a.i. "micro adjustment" to make sure the ball would bounce off of the target and into the nearest hornet's nest.
beauxeault, Apr 15 2002

The technology is already in the bullet. Soon your gun won't go BANG it will go BLAM, as in Barrel Launched Adaptive Munitions. [link]

//) Everyone is required to have a computer chip implanet inside their bodies somewhere. This chip sends out a constant signal giving their location, based on detection of GPS signals.// With this somewhat intrusive technology, who needs a gun? The cops just send a signal to the wanted guy, telling him/her to give themselves up. If they don't, a small bomb explodes rupturing something vital, and the bad guy dies of internal bleeding (less mess)
