not sure about that - I thought I read once that babies could see light from inside the womb. a light glow would be sufficient. |
I think I'd prefer a breast shaped night light to a real light bulb in a person (yes of course, glow in the dark testicles are next on the wish list perhaps) |
//glow-in-the-dark testicles// [marked-for-tagline] |
to turn the light on or off do you "flip the toggle switch" or "pull the chain" ? |
It's easy to transilluminate breasts. I'm thinking of doing it regularly. The kind of light given off by a glow stick would be enough, though using actual glowsticks in this situation would be a rather short term solution. |
Brilliant - useful and practical. |
Not so sure about the glow in the dark testicles, [po], but surely it would be possible to come up with a glow in the dark penile implant... |
Didn't this appear in a Naked Gun or Austen Powers film? {Linky, but neither of them} |
//...however, ambient light is much brighter than any luminescence likely to be emitted from an unpowered subcutaneous implant...// |
[21], as I imagined it, you would not be able to see any light emitted during the day -- not even if the proud owner were engaged in a lively racquetball game. |

I don't recall that, [Dub], but I do recall that Goldmember's member glowed pretty brightly -- but, that was due to an entirely different reason, right? In Goldmember's case, his entire unit was replaced with gold. |
[Grogster] No, definitly, Top Secret - I'll try and find the clip - In any event see Electric Six vid |
YIKES! I just checked out the link, [Dub]! What I had in mind would not require batteries... |
thank goodness there's no mention of fishnet tights... |
;) - How are YOU doing, [po]? |
// It does seem I have a very good mamory for glowing jumper puppies
{Accidental typo} AND videos with ladies in tights |
[po] //thank goodness there's no mention of fishnet
tights// Thank you for rectifying that deficiency. |

Now, regarding power requirements: |
According to Drews et al 2001, Journal of Power Sources
v97-8, pp 747-9 an implantable pacemaker/defibrillator
battery can supply pulsed power on the order of 5W at
2.5V for 10 seconds. Pulsed power should be OK if LEDs are
used for the light source. I don't know what it takes to
transilluminate breasts, but you can transilluminate a
person's head with an ordinary medical penlight.
Replacement bulbs for those are, e.g. 0.250A * 2.5V =
0.625W. Those are incandescent bulbs, hence a
conservative estimate of what would be required for LEDs.
So power requirements don't seem excessive, provided
cost is no object. |
Glowing testicles should have even lower power
requirements, as less tissue to shine through. Would be
startling for an unprepared sexual partner: perhaps a
novelty way to end a relationship? |
Corrections invited from those who know more about
these things. |
[mouseposture]"Glowing testicles should have even lower power requirements"
Bollocks! - Speak for yourself! |
[Dub] evidently knows more about these things. I stand
corrected. |
Willie and "the boys" works for me; Willie and the "novelty (incandescent/LED) testicles" does not. Would that not have a rather deleterious effect on the performance/function of said testicles? The whole idea of replacing the boys gives me the creeping heebie jeebies. |
//creeping heebie jeebies// <Sigh> The HB just isn't ready to
embrace posthumanism. |
[mouse], as regards "...creeping heebie jeebies..." I was speaking only for myself and not the HB in toto. As for what I am willing to "embrace," the list is lengthy and occasionally erotic, painful, ticklish, and/or wildly unpredictable. Film at 11. |
Also in one of the Naked Guns, but no direct shot is shown. Instead, just a 'flash' sound and Leslie Nielson's lit-up face. |
Odontodactylus latirostris (gods but I miss italics
here) is a shrimp with luminous testicles. They don't
seem particularly happier than other shrimp, though. |

They must hate that, always being easy up to pick out
in identity parades. |
Just exactly what kind of identity parades have you been participating in [morri]? |
Never actually been on one, but, gives me an
idea...see link. |
Hang on, used to go to an FE college, and the police
station
was across the road, they used to wander over and
try and rope in students who wouldn`t mind taking
part....I would have remembered that, I`m sure.. |
College students you say, those people traditionally encountered (if at all) in any setting outside of their natural habitat, on a pub crawl? / It's entirely possible there may be many things you don't remember ;) |
Only really memorable bit was drinking 3 pints of
scrumpy on an empty stomach, and my pupils
contracted so much the whole world went dark. |
More interesting was once at uni, I got so drunk the
lass I was talking, my hearing centre went on the fritz
and her speech was broken up into phonemes...and so
completely unintelligible. |
That youtube Electric Six video was ... illuminating. |
This idea needs more nitrogen triiiodide. |
Wow. Take me back to my high school days. Let it dry on the windowsill next to a drop of honey ... catching flies and all that. |
Excuse me, I seem to have wandered into the Light
Entertainment section. I was looking for the Science News. |
This would provide research into how light affects sleep and how breast-feeding affects fetishes later in life. But I don't think there's a chemical that can turn turbulence into light energy directly. We'll need to also test the effects of continual, high-voltage low-current electricity being passed through a human body. |
//We'll need to also test the effects of continual, high-voltage low-current electricity being passed through a human body.// You wouldn't need a full-size test, just a testicle. |
