My wife and I got into a discussion the other day about what color car we wanted. When I jokeingly said a glow-in-the-dark car I got to thinking, why not? Why can I not have a car with phosphorous paint? Sure, in the day time it would be a citrus drink color, and at night it would only be brighter,
but I still think the idea is neat. Think about the accidents that can be avoided, and if there was an accident the other guy can't say, "I didn't see them."

But he could say "I was distracted by it." |

Most phosphorescent materials never seem to glow as brightly or for as long as I'd like, so usually they're just an ugly shade of an unpleasant color. |

For small values of 'cool'... |

Of course, you'd have to watch out for rednecks/UFO conspiracy theorists with shotguns. |

A whole car can easily be done with a glow-in-the-dark powder coat, for relatively cheap. Just pull off the body panels and take 'em in. |

I bet you'd be able to keep this glowing - it would recharge a little bit every time you passed under a streetlight. |

I have always wanted a car like this for
about 10 years. + |

It would make it much easier to find your car in the grocery store parking lot at night... |

I like it, but I think it would attract thieves. |

Try painting the glow pigments over a white base, for starters, and use plenty of them. White will allow the phosphorescents to absorb more energy and last longer after dark. |

There are some really pretty colors that glow in the dark pigments have these days. Some reds and some violets. There should be some that would look nice on a car. |
