A bicycle made entirely out if glass; blown, cast, ground - as appropriate.
Every part works, although the brakes will need to be levers rather than cables.
Self-supporting, but would shatter if sat on and ridden, hence unusable and therefore very safe.
Transparent Bike
https://www.gizmodo...l-transparent-bike/ made from a strong, lightweight and transparent plastic called Trivex. [xaviergisz, May 30 2019]
US6127505
https://patents.goo...127505?oq=US6127505 Trivex patent (for those interested in its chemical composition). Serendipitously, the patent expired yesterday (29 May 2019) for anyone who wanted to make their own. [xaviergisz, May 30 2019]

How do you inflate the tyres? |
|
|
Using a glassblower, duh. |
|
|
With the capabilities of fancy glass these days (Gorilla Glass
etc), you could probably make this work (except the
tyres...). |

Lots of things are made out of forms of glass.
Fibreglass - very tough.
Thick rods of glass can also be surprisingly strong. |

With, mostly, the index of refraction of air? Lenticular cross-section, of course. |

A few people have made bicycles entirely out of wood, and I've seen a working steam engine made entirely out of glass. |

Found glass tires!... but they were just art. I wonder though... maybe Prince Rupert Tires? |
|

Come kind of centrifugal cymatic configuration could confer cymmetry through chear alliteration. (why does that word 'cymmetry' cuddenly look wrong to me? two m's wtf?) |

There are those airless plastic tires. Struts/spokes made of glass with flexible hinges could have the same action as a pneumatic tire. This new tire would still need a good material meeting the road. |

I like the glass bike {+} |
