A gift card or credit card typically has a magnetic stripe on only one edge -- the other three edges are unused.

I propose a service, where you bring them four cards, they copy the magnetic stripes of those cards to one special card with four strips, and either destroy the original cards, or give them back to you.

I wouldn't expect gift cards to contain any computer chips, only a magnetic stripe.

Bank issued credit cards might or might not contain computer security chips... I wouldn't expect these chips to be copyable.

However, I would think that any computer chip, and a bit of the surrounding plastic, could be extracted from the original card with a hole punch, and then glued or welded into the consolidated card.
