Leg-amputee athletes have been approaching the speed of non-disabled performers by wearing what looks like half of a high-tech archery-bow without the string.
Both single and double amputees use them.
Could a further development of these "spring legs" for NON-DISABLED users, become
the next sidewalk and cross-country high-stepping craze?

I'm not sure what the point is of continuing to develop more efficient sports equipment. Once everyone gets the new equipment (faster ice skates, for example), you're right back where you started, as far as competition is concerned. For non-competitive use, a bicycle would probably be better that this. |
