Generic Protest

A basic protest for those with plenty of passion, but little time.

I have precious paltry time to protest the preponderance of problems I perceive. I further propose that protests primarily promote polarization.

As such, I submit the more inclusive, time-saving, and flexible option of the "Generic Protest."

Signs would reflect the leanings of participants. Those of us with a positive bent could sport placards with admonitions of:

"We Want More Good Things!" "Up With Good Things!"

While those wishing to express more ire could sport:

"Bad Things Suck!" "Down With Bad Things!" "We Demand Fewer Bad Things!"

The Generic Protest brings us together by celebrating our common desire for good. Rather than mire ourselves in subjectives, we can come together in the objective realization of our common benevolence. Those of us otherwise relegated to opposite sides of the street can now stand together.

Naturally, world peace isn't far behind.

Or alternatively, we are victorious, and crowded underneath the President's balcony as he acquiesces to our demands: "I cannot fight you, my people, tell me what you would have, and I shall make it so."
[Chaos ensues as a million conflicting voices rise]

I have bunned you anyway, for the alliteration in the first paragraph, although your use of "paltry" is incorrect. May I humbly suggest: "I am precipitously poor in time, prevented from pragmatically protesting the preponderance of problems I perceive..."

[Doc] - I humbly ackowledge the superiority of your alliteration. And thanks for the bun.

I'm against protesting but don't know how to show it.

agreed on the fantastic alliteration, and i want more good things!

Wait...so do you *want* to get laid or is that the "not getting what you don't want" part of the deal, [bwv]?

Oh, ok [bwv]. I just wasn't sure if you'd given to celibacy (God forbid!) or what. At least you've got your target already sleeping in the same bed as you. I've yet to talk to the Dutch hottie I've got my eye on.

//wholesome type with a blonde pageboy.// HAHAHAHA!!! Now it was your turn to make me piss myself laughing. No no no...he's not wholesome looking, nor does he have a pageboy. Oh jeeze, I'm still laughing. ***wipes a tear from her eye***

I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it any more.

Generic protests are all ready reflected in the news. Real protests of real things are all ready presented generically.

Wasn't there a fellow that tried to go follow some protestors with a placard that was... blank, or had a big question mark? Didn't go so well for him I understand.

This reminds me of my long standing desire to run for president under the "pro-good, anti-bad" platform.
