So, what you're saying is, replica daleks with on-board motion
control, motion detection and image recognition software
and a stereo imaging hardware, capable of identifying
undesirable creatures in the garden and then dispatching
them with a high-voltage discharge before transporting the
little corpses to the compost heap, but equipped with all of
the safety features which one would expect in a consumer-
oriented pest-control system intended for retail in a
litiginous western society, whilst nevertheless retaining a
high degree of effectiveness? Or did I misunderhend? |
Shouldn't the compost heap be integral to the dalek itself? Traditional garden daleks have that feature. |

Yes, you did. They are ruthless, amoral destroyers. |
Hmm, are they? I think they have their own morality, similar to the political theory of fascism, but they do have values. For instance, they believe they are the only species with any worth, they believe they are perfect and that there is only one kind of perfection, and therefore that conformity to their norm is a virtue, and they believe in the value of pure academic research and the knowledge acquired thereby. From a real world point of view, they're based on the Nazis but they aren't amoral, i think. |

You could probably rely on them to exterminate all pests and weeds, but they would then go on to exterminate everything else in the garden. Either that or they'd attempt to enslave the petunias in a plan to take over the Universe. |
Probably best to grow triffids if you're going to use daleks. More evenly matched, i think. |

Sold with a Sonic Flyswatter as a bonus? |

I saw a lot of stairs, last time i visited an English Garden... |

(huh, so that's where it came from) |

I think one could substitute these for garden gnomes. Ideally they would be attached to hose or sprinkler system as well, and so could shoot water jets. |
I'd like to see these as gaudily painted ceramic gnome alternatives, perhaps brandishing fishing rods, or similar from their manipulators. |
Gnomes are all right for the common household, but it takes a special kind of person to have a Dalek patrolling their property. |
