Fused Ashes Remembrance

Because sex is an expression of love, right?

In some weeks recent relative to the time of this writing, I've been reading the archives of an on-line comic, and a particular one inspired this Idea, so see the link.

Some ways of expressing love are more serious than others. The notion described in the comic seems to me to have a flaw, in that sometimes containers leak.

However, cremation-ashes are mineral-type materials, and it is well known that minerals can be fused into solid shapes (see most any igneous or metamorphic rock). I'm pretty sure such shapes can be highly polished, too.

I'm fairly sure this Idea has now been explained adequately.

Just ash on its own won't create a ceramics glaze - you need some flux, quartz, china clay and possibly other ingredients too, but it's perfectly doable (see links)
