I'm writing this from an English perspecitve, but I'm sure it's equally applicable to many other first world countries...
Lots of people have ponds in their back gardens, and this should be encouraged as many other ponds and lakes and whatnot are being filled to make way for new houses. Garden ponds
help conserve the population of friendly frogs and toads.
However, because of roads and various other conditions, these ponds are becoming increasingly independant from one another, and so inbreading is becoming a serious problem in some places - with many mutant species recorded with any number of health problems...
I propose to solve this problem, in places around the country, people with garden ponds (and enthusiasm) take a few of their frogs (no more than about three) to a convention, where they swap with other people with garden ponds... the idea being to keep genes flowing between dangerously independant ponds, to make healthy frogs, which'll help the population as a whole.

The more I think about this idea, the more I like it. The only catch is that all the bachelor(ette)s should be thoroughly tested for parasites before any exchanges are made. [+] |

Is this more like wife swapping for frogs? Or amphibian
mail-order-mates? Chuckles [+]. |

This convention could have its own frog leg appetizers... |

Simply declare frog swap day to be January the 2nd at noon on the SE corner of State Street and Main Avenue in your town, your state, your country. |

[LithiumTwo] obtained a user account and posted this idea on the same day. |

There were no other annotations or ideas by the user, and the interweb shows no apparent use of that user name in the expected manners. |

In your planet's northern hemisphere, climatic conditions and
the hibernatory habits of frogs would militate against them being
easily accessible; and even if, with no small effort, accessed,
would by and large not survive the experience. |
|
|
So you'd just end up with a quantity of dead frogs, which is not
quite what the original idea proposes. |

A date nearer midsummer than midwinter would offer a better
prospect of success. |

Much liked idea [+] Would they be marched to their new location? |
|
|
Yes, but a lot of them might croak on the way, and many others would decide to escape and hop it. |
