An online database that would contain information about what you could get free, where you could get it and what you have to do for it
The site could be searched, people could make submissions that someone would check out and then would be added
Free things refer to anything that could be
got free; from free downloads to buy one get one free offers to competitions
E.G.
- some piece of shareware, got from downloads.com, may require free registration
- free health care, UK, must pay taxes
- car, some address or other, must have name drawn out of a hat
The website itself is free but could generate money by advertising (banners saying free stuff here) and the best thing about them is that if you saw an interesting add you could search the database and find out if they were actually making an offer of free stuff
Google search on "free stuff"
http://www.google.c...0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 freestuff.com, thefreesite.com, totallyfreestuff.com ... shall I continue? [waugsqueke, Jun 11 2002]

They don't get much more baked than this, RK. Linky. |

They seem to be online collections of free stuff, not a large database of everywhere free stuff can be found... and I bet none of them tell you the catch along with the free stuff... |

Who thinks I should just get rid of this idea? If many of you do then I won't mind - Its hardly my best ever idea... |

In order to get a database of 'everything, everywhere' you'd have to know just about everybody. Not really practical. And probably wouldn't be free. Frankly, I think the online versions do it about as well as it can be done (especially those that allow visitor submissions). |
