Foldless Paper Airplane

rolled for aerodynamicism

This paper airplane has no folds. One half of the paper is rolled inwards from the top and the other half of the paper is rolled outward. The result is a s-shaped spiraled craft that shoots through the air.

In the future, when these are made of metal they will be the simplest plane, possibly even made of foil in space, and maybe energy could come from starlight via stripes of light dark on the wing.

The advantage is that folds suck, as do screws and nails and joints and everything else that isn't adaptive and simple.

The craft should be shaped and tuned and all one material or printed using density fading so that materials blend into each other and there is no articulation.

The animated gif ruins the impression that it's a nice idea.

So, [JHC], how well did the plane in that image actually fly?

Oddly, the best paper aircraft (in terms of distance flyable) is a simple open cylinder, thrown along the direction of its axis, with spin.

having looked at the video, that's more of a plunge than a flight....

Having looked at the video, it appears to be some sort of secure facility.

the phrase 'Foldless paper airplane" is unique on google, and i am convinced it can be gently shaped to have lift. Bun!

Wow, your Twitter feed is weird. Where's this video/gif?
