This would be a folding pencil that folds in half so that it can fit in a smaller space. It might lead to a whole line of things that can be folded, for which there is not much need to fold.

Ummm, you do know that there is a long history of collapsible (ie, telescopic) pencils?

Do you ink it might also lead to a pen version?
the porpoise, Dec 16 2014

Telescopes, now, they're bulky, and largely empty....
bs0u0155, Dec 16 2014

Also there is a big difference between telescoping and folding. You just try to focus on a distant object using a large fold.

You mean like the way prismatic binoculars fold the optical path ... ?

This would be useful for sharp things that don't write.

Did Occam's razor fold ? I doubt it did.

Might have been a straight razor...

Please fold my chainsaw. The chain teeth always get entangled with some rope or the trousers.

       Inflatable electric folding pencil.

Binoculars don't fold the light, they reflect it.

The Galvanic Lucifer? Combined stick of graphite and torch, easy with that aqua regia Eugene.
