Having just seen the Flogo cloud advertising link below, my first thought was 'wouldn't these be a great anti-terror / anti-cult / anti-badguy etc. campaign?' With the right amount of vague fluffiness added and enough technological naivety on the part of the viewer, we could cloudcast messages over
Afghanistan that Allah does not approve of terror and that he will punish those who do not give themselves up, that women should be educated, that opium is evil, that the folks who know how to read should read the clouds to their illiterate neighbors...
I'm visuallizing a great big halfbakery logo in the sky...
Peace, man...

Pretending any form of technology is a divine intervention is a risky path (although well-trodden by the ancients, who apparently used all sorts of magic tricks and technology to keep their flocks impressed). |
|

However, I'm all for using cloud writing for propaganda purposes, as indeed for just about anything else. |

Please no! Leave the clouds alone. What will it be next, painting adverts on the wildlife?...Hmmm, that's not such a bad idea now that I think about it. Corporate investment in wildlife conservation! |

That's funny [DrBob]. Gives whole new meaning to the term "branding". |

The problem is that everything written which is CLAIMED to have come from God actually passed through the Hand of Man (with 10 Commandments POSSIBLY excepted). Watch: |
|
|
God has commanded me to write, "Thou art a gullible fool!" |
|
|
Can you prove I'm lying? Have you ever been gullible? See? |

Can we advertise healthy vegetarian living in the sky too? How can I not scare a neighborhood with massive cabbage and mushroom clouds? |
|
|
These may come along with a Greenpeace slogan too: No to irradiated farm goods & GMO, be an Adventist... |
|
|
Not certain about the cabbage but I know mushroom clouds would scare me. |

What were the skies like when u were young?
They went on for ever and they when I we lived in Arizona and the skies
always had little fluffy clouds and err.. they were long and clear and there
were lots of stars, at night. |

My daughter suggested carving clouds
with lasers - sort of cumulonimbotopiary. |

Washington would never see the sun again. |

I'd be suspicious if a message from God lacked punctuation and capitals. |

[Testicle], bear in mind that the holy book never have such, to confound the wise. |
