Human life support takes a lot of space and weight. So in a flight of 5 aircraft only one is lugging this around, the rest are in contact with this command craft and creating attack vectors and firing solutions automatically based on the commands of the human.
They can be disguised as manned planes
or not. If not they should be more numerous than just a few copies. The more the better.
Basically adding the pincer movement of ancient armies to aerial warfare. You see one of these flights coming at you the first thing they do is surround you with much cheaper unmanned aircraft that are just as heavily armed.
I also believe in never handing the kill decision over to AI, the human would pull the actual trigger once the target is locked.
The Case for the F-35
https://www.navalga...e-Case-for-the-F-35 [relevant quote] "The more likely scenario is that drone fighters will be developed to accompany manned fighter aircraft, perhaps best illustrated by the Australian Loyal Wingman program" [Loris, Jan 02 2023]

Yeah, I feel like you should read that link I gave on your baby seal idea. |

Can you re-post? There's a lot there. |

So probably baked which is a good thing. This is undoubtedly the future of air combat I think. |

I'll retire this and get back to my anti F-35 rants that never get old. |

I think that's pretty set in stone, don't think there's any controversy here about the drone thing. |

I just don't want them programmed for autonomous killing, but that's like saying I'm not a fan of death from horrible accidents. The universe is like "So?" |
