(Obviously, reverse all directions in UK or elsewhere driving on left)
When exiting a parking lot on a multilane street, sometimes there's plenty of room for three cars abreast, even though you can only turn right. When occupying the center of the exit, you could use your Far Right Turn Signal to
let people know that they can make an "immediate" right next to you because you intend to go further out to, say, get in the left turn lane.
(And I really, really looked this up :)

OK ~~~~> I'll bun this.
a) because you researched
b) I have needed one of these before. |

Good thought, potential for a decent lawsuit though. "He had his far right turnsignal on your honor" |

I don't understand. Do you mean that you
want a signal to indicate that you are
turning into the far left lane from a
parking lot or side street? Because I think
that's illegal in my state. You should first
go into the adjacent right lane and then
work your way accross the lanes one at a
time. |

Seems you didn't look quite far enough ;) |

I thought of a similar idea in 2004 [link] |

There seem to be 2 very similar categories:
(car: turn signal) and (car: communication: turn signal) |

Let's split the Nobel - yours for moving signaling and mine for stationary |

Though this might be an indicator in
the form of a flashing George Bush
head. |

Bun for the name alone. I at least feel it would be enormously useful to know when the political situation is heading towards an anti-darwin, anti-abortion, pro-military bent. |

Something like this can be useful in the states because there are times when you have to put your right turn signal on but you are not making the right turn at the next intersection. You are actually making the turn at the driveway immediately following the intersection. Or perhaps you could be in a situation where you are preparing to make a turn, however there is an obsticle that the person behind you cannot see. So they blow their horn thinking that you are just sitting there. And by the time you get moving again, the obsticle is gone, thus causing that driver to zoom around you giving you dirty looks and calling you all kinds of nasty names because he has no idea as to why you were sitting in the middle of the road with your turn signal on. |

I understand Jscotty's idea, but the original
idea still sounds dangerous. You should
never go accross three lanes of traffic at
once. |

It's not allowed here either. You turn into the lane closest to you and then move out. In the UK driving is not allowed officially in the outside lane (or lanes), except for overtaking (passing). Correct driving procedure is to the pull back into the leftmost lane until such time as you need to pass again. |
