This idea is to make a miniature shelf the will hold your glasses safely at night so when you wake in in the morning you will be able to find them and they will not be broken. Its design is to to hang on the wall above your bed out of harms way.

A marvellously half-basked set of eyeglass holders http://froogle.goog...irror&sa=N&start=10
(Yeah, I know they're not shelves, but they're so cute.) [DrCurry, Oct 04 2004]

Or nail a pc to your wall http://www.tsrline.com/wpe26.jpg
Then hang them off that [skinflaps, Oct 04 2004]

Someone recently posted an idea for a bedside shelf (for a glass of water) - sounds to me you ought to hook up with the author of that one. But shelves in general are kind of Widely Baked in the real world. Try searching Google or Froogle.

How about a lit shelf so that when you wake up in the middle of the night, you can find it better? Or, if you clap or snap you fingers, it would flash. I like the shelf.

       You've invented a shelf.

I had a custom bed frame made with a 6" shelf as headboard. The shelf is about 24" above the mattress so I don't hit pieces off during sleep.

No, it wasn't more expensive than the standard junk in the stores, its just nicer and I had to wait 6 weeks.

Interesting. I use a 5" shelf as a headboard, 4" below the mattress so I don't knock stuff off. I put my glasses and clock just beyond my head, along with a clip-on red lamp.

At night, I put my glasses inside of the same football helmet that protects them during the day.
