Explosion Based Drum Set

The electronic drum set triggers various tuned explosions.

A series of metal drums that would have a fuel injection system and spark igniters. You trigger these remotely with an electronic drum set.

Since it would take a few seconds for the drum to fill with fuel you'd need several to represent every drum on the kit.

The size of the metal drum would be what determined the drum it's representing. Very large for bass drum, smaller for tom toms etc. The snare and cymbals might be challenging. Could probably have actual cymbals in a couple of the cans since you can crash a cymbal by blowing it up as well as by hitting it I suppose.

Jambe (aka djembe) drum https://www.google....gB&biw=1920&bih=979
For hitting. [neutrinos_shadow, Jun 11 2019]

Keith Moon would have gotten superior results with your idea, [doc]. [whatrock, Jun 11 2019]

At the very least, this could cause irreversible hearing damage ; a major malfunction would cause burns, other serious injuries, or even death. It is stupidly dangerous and incredibly ill-advised.

I play the Jambe I would like it if this would work during our drum circles. Who needs belly or sword dancers when you could blow up the building instead, I ask?

Why stop at just the one building, MUHWHAHAHAHAHAHA ! <coughing>

       Ahem.

What, exactly, is a Jambe (other than the leg of a French person. If that's what you're playing, it's going to take some explaining)?

I think you could rig this up simply. Clearly fuel injection and spark injection can keep up with 15k RPM which is 60Hz per cylinder on a four stroke. Even with a bit of air exchange time, that's enough for all but the very fringes of the metal community.

So, simply have a drum, open at the bottom with a peripheral ring of automotive fuel injectors. The spark can be timed by standard drum triggars. The drum skin could be standard for a good feel, but it would need shielding from the combustion chamber/drum. Perhaps some valving could be added? With the right drummer, a self-sustaining pulse-jet style conflagration might/should ensue.

Some might suggest that without compression the burn would be somewhat inefficient. You say bug, I say feature.

       LOL. I like that.

Some technology can be borrowed from the buzz bomb speaker previously posted.

Thank you, neutrinos, for the link for Max. I would feel really bad if people went around thinking I banged on a Monsieur's detached leg. That would be gross. Unless it was still attached. Then maybe it might be cool. Not sure.

It's difficult to trust a musical instrument that has two different spellings.

That would be enjambement, which is that thing in poetry where an idea spills over to the next line.
