Evil Genius Camp

Where they teach the finer points of being evil.

After recently attending a Chemistry Camp (yep, I'm a nerd), I think that it would be great for budding paragons of all things dark and evil to have their skills honed by special instructors on such things like:

Setting up traps
Finding a (superhero) arch-enemy
Hidden lairs
Evilly laughing/ cackling
The finer points of chemistry and physics (how can you have a stupid genius?)

And so on. In reality, it would pretty much just be a chemistry/ educational camp, but the context would be hilarious fun, and most of the time, the kids won't even know that they're learning stuff.

It would also be next door to the ninja school...

Decide to be evil http://evil-guide.tripod.com/index.html
This charming little site treats the decision to be evil as a lifestyle choice – like being a goth or a punk. With handy sections on devising your evil plan and choosing murderous henchmen. [froglet, Jul 18 2005]

Buffo the Clown http://www.buffo.com/
Buffo (“the world’s strongest clown”) rips up telephone directories, balances seated children on his face, and juggles meat cleavers. Not the normal slapstick fool, then. [froglet, Jul 19 2005]

I think they could learn a lot from watching the James Bond films. I watched "Live & Let Die" this weekend where James is stranded on an small island surrounded by crocodiles. All the bad guys leave and Bond escapes by running across the backs of the crocs!!! They should be able to list 10 schoolboy errors made by the bad guys...I want to see a movie one time where they just shoot Bond through the head at close range. Let's see him escape from that!
Minimal, Jul 18 2005

That would take the point away a bit surely [Minimal].

I thought that nobody could teach you to be a genius. It would have to be an ingrained part of you. Or formed through some harrowing childhood experience.
hidden truths, Jul 18 2005

They should also have an evil henchmen camp, where they teach you act without compunction or accountability.

It could also be called "politician camp," but whatever.
shapu, Jul 18 2005

Your're right about the Genius stuff [ht], although some people who become masters in a certain field are sometimes (maybe incorrectly) referred to a geniuses. I think people refer to someone as a genuis when they seem to natural and uncanny ability in a particular area, which could be natural, or could be the result of a lifetimes learning.
Minimal, Jul 18 2005

//I thought that nobody could teach you to be a genius//

       Very very true.

Has anyone seen the movie 'Being There'? They think that bloke is a genius for his simple veiws on life, etc...

My dad thinks that I'm a genius because I can complete the Time's Sudoku within the time limit, but that's just easy - it's all patterns...
froglet, Jul 18 2005

[Minimal], do you have good geniudar? Do geniuses have good geniudar? I can always spot someone who's crazy, wonder what that means, wonder where they hid that once wielded chainsaw too...

Maybe I'll just sit around a bunch of 10am Sudoku players and scream: "look at all these geniuses!".

       Wonder if I'd be kidding...

... and if the act alone would make me a genius...

That would be like a perpetual genius machine, which definitly can't exist, so my conclusion is: No. I am not a genius. Not until I figure out a better way of becoming one.

In deciphering an evil test on [froglet]'s link":

"Tally up your answers, and find out which letter you answered the most.

Mostly A's, B's or C's - You unfortunately do not possess the necessary qualities to be an evil supervillain. Please continue with your studies and apply again next year. Mostly D's - Excellent."

What a vauge way to tally scores! Evil people really don't care much for quantization, I'm afriad.
daseva, Jul 18 2005

That is a great link. With guidance from the folks at "Decide to be evil", I have chosen my evil genius name! Mwah ha ha ha! Henceforth I shall be known as Master Carnal Maggot.

Whaa? Do they have an evil name generator?
daseva, Jul 18 2005

//but an Evil Idiot Camp might be fun. wagster//

       We call those "trailer parks".
moPuddin, Jul 20 2005

Trailer park my ass, we call 'em neighborhoods. Or housing projects if you prefer. One of the bigger ones is an entire county... I guess in local vernacular it would be Evil Dumbass Camp.

Seriously, when I first saw Evil Idiot Camp I laughed very hard.

Sited down the street from Minions 'R' Us.
elhigh, Jul 21 2005

Of course, if you wanted to bring in a 'successful' evil genius, you'd be a bit stuck - seeing as that many evil geniuses these days are so disillusioned as to how they're going to fail that they set out to fail.

And about the whole 'making a genius' thing, well, I didn't say that we'd be making geniuses out of your average evil thicko - I said something along the lines of 'honing their skills'.
froglet, Jul 22 2005

I am impressed that most Evil Genii do not need to find their arch-enemy: the enemy finds them, in order to thwart their plan. Evil Geniuses try to accomplish something, with the goal being to teach a lesson to the people "who called me Mad...Mad!". Heroes are reactionary, and show up to thwart.
bungston, Jul 22 2005

[bungston] - you never know, an Evil Genius could start an (official) Evil Plan, only to have another Evil Genius (or Genii) turn up, thwart Evil Genius #1, become the hero... then boot up their own Evil Plan...
froglet, Jul 22 2005

The sign of an exceptional student would surely include plotting to take over the school itself; and then (of course) having the head teacher lowered slowly into a tub of bubbling green goo...
