Almost all elevators have an alarm or emergency call button.
But the system has a limitation - it's usually a voice intercom.
If the caller has a hearing impairment, they can't respond to any questions, which may result in the call being dismissed as a hoax.
The answer is a 2-way video link,
so the caller can sign to the call handler, and vice-versa.
