Electrical Muscle Stimulation Running Aid

Triggered by switches in the running shoes, electrodes shock your leg muscles to help them contract at the right moment

You'd need a pretty hefty shock but you'd essentially be supercharging your run with a bank of batteries in your backpack or around your belt.

Note: the title of this isn't "Comfortable Running Aid That Feels Really Good". It would be torture, but I think it could make you run inhumanly fast. If you were really out of your mind you could add electrical heart stimulation as well.

I've never heard of such a thing but I'm sure somebody's thought of this before. Upon reference to such an invention this will be cheerfully withdrawn.
