People with learning disabilities are in a similar boat as those with low vision. A white cane provides an opportunity to promote disability awareness as well as being useful for navigation. There should be a variation of a white cane that assists and provides the opportunity to start the disability awareness conversation to people with learning disabilities...

...and to hit people with.

If there's one thing that I've learned here at the halfbakery, it's that unless you provide the specifics of the idea then it verges on a "let's all".

The white cane with the red tip is already taken, and the cane serves the purpose of helping the user sense the terrain.

Why would somebody with a learning disability want to carry a cane ?

       ... or bite them.

Maybe big heavy sticks, and big angry bitey dogs ...

       And guns. Lots of guns.

When did all mental disabilities become learning disabilities?
MaxwellBuchanan, Mar 03 2016

//"ability" was no longer regarded as a measure of ability.//

Ah, but, [LimpNotes], that problem was solved by the invention of the box and, soon thereafter, the tick.
