To keep your dogs away from your socks, shoes, etc. | |
A pair of sock-shaped doggie chew toy snacks out of rawhide or whatever.

what is it with dogs? one of mine hides *one* of my slippers every day - in the *same* place. I think the dog would eat these and still mess with your socks... |

New Tag-line for Halfbakery:
Come up with an original idea - win a pair of edible socks. |
Wouldn't that just teach your dog that it's okay to eat socks? |
Yup, but if they're all edible (and reproducing) then its ok, isn't it? |
Your brother chases his Dachshund..? ;-) |

That one's been done - one of the local pet stores has cartilage moccasins, designed to be used as chew toys. (Given that the cartilage in question comes from pigs' ears, I do wonder why no one has yet suggested chew purses.) |
Maybe if we conveyed higher expectations for our beloved pets...? |
The following is true, I promise. |
We had a habit of calling out "moose" once or twice a month whenever one was spotted sauntering through our yard. The problem was our Great Dane, Gracie while bellowing at all the windows would smack her tail on the stereo and TV turning them on. |
To avoid alerting her our solution was to spell the word moose . Didn't work. She caught on to the spelling of "Moose", and eventually "out", and "ball." So now we do "gifted" pet tricks for guests. |
What really pulls my heart strings most is coming home later than usual and finding her in deep sleep exhausted from the stressful delay with her muzzle tucked inside one of our tennis shoes. She never chews on them, ever. |
cartilage moccassins.........I'm thinking about all the poor little piggies running around without ears, I guess if the piggies were deaf, it wouldn't matter much. Do they fill in their earholes with something to keep the muck and grime out? |
Earhole caps for earless pigs? Sounds like a halfbakery idea if I've ever heard one. |
All that would teach your dog is that it's ok to eat socks. Bad move. |
Come on, the sock resemblance is really for us humans. No dog would confuse a tasty rawhide sock for a nice, soft, cuddly, cottony one. They're completely different to doggies. This would just teach your dog that rawhide is tastier, albeit harder to chew on, than those funny things you've got on your feet. |

Excellent shop, [jutta]! Now, what exactly is "Rocket" flavor? |
