Okay, I don't have many ideas, but here's one:

A machine into which one places a tube of toothpaste. This device can stand upright or be lain on its side. To dispense toothpaste, a button on the base of this device is pressed. After the paste has been dispensed, the lid closes and the device automatically cleans the toothpaste gunk off of the end of the tube of toothpaste. Helps especially in the case of somebody with children, as only the correct amount of toothpaste will be dispensed, and there will be no more mess to clean up when they are done brushing.

On the side, maybe this device can play a song, or have a dinger that goes off when you've brushed your teeth for the correct amount of time.

In additon, all thanks to [phoenix], the lid to this contraption will close slowly, and much like a garage door, will somehow not close all the way if something like a finger is in the way. Also, since the tube of toothpaste will be enclosed inside of this, it will become a vacuum (pushing the toothpaste out easier) in order to use it all.

You'll have to enclose it so junior doesn't get a finger taken off, but otherwise sounds like it'd sell.

Instead of rollers, have it use a mechanical key (like the good ol' days) and pinch roller. Then your box won't have to be as big.

Bristolz, I've actually seen a through-the-bristles dispenser toothbrush before...A little travel thing, you squoze it full of your favorite toothpaste, then twisted the handle to get it to ooze some onto the bristles. <Bristolz bristles...sorry, just had to say it...> It didn't look incredibly efficient, but if you're only going to be gone a couple of days, it seemed like it'd work ok..

       Use Mentadent, homey.

::after you push down to dispense the goo, the pump sucks in the extra toothpaste::

I'm a crest kid. None of the above links had what I was thinking in my head. I just can't get the idea out correctly -- so we should probably quit annotating this one and let it die. Thanx though

       Merry Christmas!
