Easy Chopsticks

 For grabbing slippery food stuffs

We’ve all had the experience of using chopsticks and having slippery, smooth or round foodstuffs just slip out of them. (especially mushrooms) My solution is “easy chopsticks” on the inside edge of these chopsticks is a set of small, serrated rubber pads. (pieces of rubber striping in a zigzag structure) These pads would give extra grip so that the foodstuffs are less likely to slip out of your chopsticks.

       I’m sorry, I cannot vote for this idea. I think that by adding rubber pads to my chopsticks, you would be significantly increasing the likelihood of foodstuffs getting stuck in the rubber grips and festering, adding all kinds of unnecessary germs with each bite. Using your chopsticks more frequently will alleviate this problem without adding extra germs.

       That’s almost even worse, in the US those “rubber pads” would surely be made out of plastic, and nearly anything that is disposable and plastic, is a waste of resources continually making them, and a waste of space when you throw them out (and they take 50 million years to biodegrade).

       You must be using teflon-coated chopstick or something. I can pick up a grain of rice with chopsticks. I agree with [thcgenius] that chopsticks need no improvement.

       Chopsticks are not used everywhere in Asia. In India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Central Asia most people have traditionally eaten with their hands. If this method were to westernized, would people need to wax their thumbs?

       Chopsticks, the endings of which are coated with rose-stem-like minuscule sharp needles, which would give better grip..
