Is there a technical reason why this hasn't already been invented by someone? Surely it is possible and would be very practical to have both sides of a cd to be readable. Just like cassette tapes have 2 sides, a cd could too. The only problem I can think of is the ease of scratching one of the 2 surfaces, but still, with proper maintenance theres no reason it shouldn't work!

You wouldn't have any place to put the label...except maybe around the edge.

If you get the South Park movie DVD, it has one screen size on one side and a different size on the other. I'll show you some time.
