I remember when all we had were dot matrix printers (and clicky keyboards), and i know it may seem odd, but i bloody love that noise they make!
Now i am also a fan of the quality of my laser printer, so a comprimise would be to reproduce the look and sound of a dot matrix printer, with the internal workings of a laser printer.
Retro Heaven...

Re. the noise issue http://www.webopedi...matrix_printer.html
Read near the bottom "In addition to these characteristics, you should also consider the noise factor. Compared to laser and ink-jet printers, dot-matrix printers are notorious for making a racket." [MikeOliver, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004]

No, the make that scratchy noise when they print...
I can't really convey the sound in text... someone help me out?

(edit). That last anno threw me a little curry, and i started to doubt myself.
Have reached the conclusion, either you are taking the piss, or you need to get your laser printer fixed!

Yeah, i agree GMT, in which case that april fool was posted at approx 1730 GMT, thus invalidating it
*feeling of foolishness lifted* :)
