Half a croissant, on a plate, with a sign in front of it saying '50c'

This would work fine, except in terms of success.

Don't get in a mess chess

Heat sensative chess pieces to prevent 'what was that move'

when playing chess sometimes you notice a wrong move maybe two moves earlier, if the chess pieces were heat sensitive then you would be able to see which pieces you had just moved, maybe one or two moves earlier. It would also be be good to see which moves had just been made when your opponent accuses you of not watching - you would be able to see which players had been moved recently.

If you can't remember the last few moves you or your opponent made, and can't be bothered to figure out where the pieces were a few moments ago, I would love to play chess with you, for money, a lot of money.

Certainly feasible. Maybe just for fun.

P.S. What *did* happen to your spelling? I don't remember it being this bad before.

Reminds hisself never to play chess with any bakers, at least not without the help of Deep Blue.

So they let you out of reform school, huh? Their mistake (wink). Here, have a quarter, get yer shoes shined (pinches cheek).

Er, but I don't get they idea. Wouldn't it make more sense to indicate the previous position(s) of the moved piece by having the position(s) do the communication rather than the piece itself, as [dimandja] suggests?

Deep Blue is disassembled. Partner with Deep Fritz [Ray] – could’ve kicked Blue’s butt if given the chance.

       [snarfy], [DJ], – ‘mood’ pieces?
