Now that LCDs can be produced at less than an inch in size, a watch on five fingernails has been developed. Each tiny, convex, oval screen is integrated with an ultra-thin processor and battery. After being charged and correlated, they are attached to the nails with adhesive pads.
This exclusive
and distinctive watch can display a variety of constant or alternating background colors. Showing the hour on the index and middle fingers and the minute on the ring and little finger, always or when pressed, the timepiece allows surreptitious viewing as well as being a superb conversation piece.
Be advised that the next charming gentleman that kisses your hand may actually be checking if an important game has started on TV.

Now, *that* is a nice watch. |
If there was a way to detect when the fingers were extended, the display could simply reverse (minutes on middle and index fingers, bottom of digits toward knuckle) |
This would also allow detection of gestures that could trigger other display modes / messages / special effects... |

I'd say it was my wife's, but those fingers did come out pretty stubby. |
P'raps you could include a coating that would defeat nail biting in order to preserve the timepiece as well as the nails themselves. |
what happens when you need to cut your nails? |
The adhesive pads were meant so the nails could be peeled off for recharging, taking a shower, etc. |

New excuse for guys, "Sorry I'm late, my dear, but I had my fingers crossed over the Lotto draw and I lost track of the time." |
[lurch] - Oh, no you don't. That just paves the way for <gags loudly> advertising <spits out foul-tasting lump>. |
This could make for extremely confusing time-telling:
"It's now 72:01"
"No, it's 20:71"

How would you set the time with this thing? |
You tap your fingers. Duh. |
So typing at a keyboard will make the day go by *real* fast won't it. |
I was thinking a small stand for recharging, calibration and synchronization. |

Hmmm...if some acceleration detectors were integrated, could it be used to display the time hovering in mid air as the fingers were waved back and forth? For some reason my father used to make this motion with his watch hand whenever I asked him the time, and then put his watch to his ear before tutting loudly and not answering the question. With this device he could resurrect those days while providing the required information. |

i suppose you could always have it radio controlled or something, or tuned into a GPS to set the time for the particular region you're in, then you could take it all over the world, and never have to change it. |

FJ: surely a glove, not a stand? And I think you ought to market a road rage version, where the whole time appears on a single fingernail. |
