A switch on your electric digital LED segment alarm clock turns on the digital ticking sound, which makes a light 'tick' noise with each second just as a clockwork clock makes. Deluxe models offer a volume setting as well as several variants of tick sounds from which to choose.

I think the relevance of the search results is limited. I too encountered a large number of returns on variations of the keywords of this idea before posting here. There were lots of references to smartphone apps which seem tangentially related to this idea at best.

None of them seemed to be the actual item I describe in the idea.

No, there is no texting involved.

Replace all transistors with electromechanical relays - that should provide sufficient ticking.

Most of those results are spam pages like cafepress.com which stole my click with a lie. I think the designer, coder, and owner should be rounded up and fed to ants.
