Since it’s so heavy to would provide a much greater reaction mass. It burns well and could mixed in to conventional solid rocket fuel, or a hybrid engines propellant.

       What you want is momentum. And to get that you need both mass and energy. The energy per weight you'd get out of oxidizing uranium would be small compared to metals like aluminum.

       Efficiency aside, depleted uranium is deemed relativly safe to touch because the radiation it gives off cannot penetrate your skin, though wearing gloves is recomended. Breathing in the oxide dust given off by burning it is far from recommended though.
