Deck Chair Ratchet

wind canvas and adjust tension

Deck Chairs are the most simple of all folding seating apparatus, but they have only one means of adjustment, that being the relative angle against the level surface.

Deck Chair Ratchet, permits the user to relax or increase the tension of the actual seating canvas by winding it unto a roller placed at the head of the chair.

This is a very simple replacement of the usual fixed batten unto which the canvas is normally stapled in a fixed position.

       [ ] I think there's probably an optimum tension; beyond that one way you slide off, the other and they have to bury you in it.

       Now, if [xen] had included some pointless, unreliable and ludicrously overcomplicated clockwork mechanism for dynamically adjusting the tension, then it would have been HalfBaked .... but as it is, well ....

       Congratulations, [xen], for inspiring a range of weaponized beach furniture.

       Shame on you [8th_of_7]. You've taught dear innocent [hippo] a bad word.

       // dear innocent [hippo] //

       This would be the same "dear innocent [hippo]" that came up with ideas like "Chickens with lasers", "Cinema with real gunfire" and "Petting slaughterhouse" ?
