Some day, natural evolution will change the wild Thai
dogs into those that follow the Green Cross Code. Until
then, the natural selection process results in some nice
modifications to the fronts of vehicles.
So, a fluorescent dye, which doesn't affect the successful
predation of the local
wheelie bins, could be sprayed onto
these lucky guys, thereby increasing visibility in headlights
and so on.
Bright red would be quite seasonal, I suppose, but maybe
a bright yellow would work better.

But only for Mondays, of course, to be followed on successive days by pink, green, orange, light blue, purple, then red. |

That's a lot of dog spraying. |

I'm for a bioluminescent dog: hi-viz at night, cast
interesting shadows as they wander the house, and never
again will I trip over them in the dark and go tobogganing
down the stairs at 2 a.m. |

Spraying is quicker than spaying.... |

Quite interestingly I drove through Zimbabwe a few months back and noticed the low frequency of appearance of darkly coloured goats and donkeys. I figured this was due to the fact those most darkly coloured are more likely to get killed by vehicles at night. This thought was reinforced by a very close miss with a darkly coloured donkey in the evening of the same day. |

NB. Sample size reduced to (one) to fit with observation. |

Just dayglo the collar. The dog can't see it and won't be embarrassed. |

You could GM the dogs to have a green or red
fluorescent protein pretty easily. Unfortunately
getting that to express in fur is difficult, and it
wouldn't fluoresce if you did. So just the nose, round
the eyes, bits of paw, and that tea-towell holder
thingy they have 'round the back. |
