Darklight Sleepwake

I like the room to be very dark when I'm trying to sleep. Light in the room tends to wake me up. Sun's up, I'm up.

Sleep masks that block out the light are quite common (though I've never tried one). I've also seen devices which act to rouse a sleeper gracefully by slowly turning up the brightness of a light in the room.

With the advent of white LEDs and with the use of tiny circuitry and batteries afforded by the low power requirements of said LEDs, it should be possible to incorporate a "wake-up-light" alarm clock type feature in to a sleep mask.

       I had one of these once. It was supposed to flash LEDs when it detected REM, to remind you to have a lucid dream. All it did was wake me up.

       The LED Lucid Dream System supposedly would remind you that you're asleep, with sound & lights, while NOT waking you, so you could semi-consciously play in your dreams.
I never ordered it, for fear that it would annoy me while I'm trying to sleep. I hate that.
