Daisy Clock

Flower petal hours with bug second hand
  (+12)(+12)

The daisy clock looks like a real daisy with twelve petals made of light tin. Each attached by a spring mechanism to the face of the clock which looks like the daisy center.

A little bug of your choice (lady-bug, black beetle, or a bee) walks around the center depicting the seconds going by. As each hour passes, one of the petals falls off the clock. When the hour reaches twelve, the spring mechanism pulls all the flower petals back to the center, to start all over again.

He loves me, He loves me not.

Wondering what light tin is, but want mine with Miffy ears rather than petals. (+)

Hey, you guys can have whatever you want- swords, ears, whatever...I'm in the mood for spring, as we have been having a long winter.

(I see 3 [+]'s but only 2 on the count- somebody holding out on me? haha (loves me not)
I think *light tin* is really aluminum.

cute. I wouldn't even bother with the petals falling off, the bugs would charm me.

Under your current configuration [xandram], ie //He loves me, He loves me not//, the subject of your affection will never love you, unless time stops fortuitously. Perhaps surprise him with some sexy lingerie, let him have control of the TV remote once in a while or cook him a fried breakfast every weekday morning. Alternatively, start with "He loves me not".

       Requited!

[the leopard] I thought of that, but if the last petal never fell off, it would be opposite.
xandram, Mar 17 2008

The clock could fake it. Unless she’s stood there for 12 hours, perhaps she lost track of petal abatement. As the last one falls, a little sign can pop up “He Loves Me!” So when I come home, I don’t have to spend the next 12 hours reassuring her.

I'm afraid "my" link keeps failing... pity, because it's the perfect illustration for this idea.
xenzag, Mar 17 2008

[MB] I did notice your clock above mine, yours seems very complicated. Yes [xen] nothing to be seen in your link, but thanks anyway.
It's half daisy now, as I just woke up!
