Take a cymbals-monkey: one of those little battery-operated things that crash tiny cymbals together, often found on the same shelf as the wind-up chattering teeth, and use it as the business-end of a picker-upper: the manual waldo arm extensions for when you don't want to move off the easy-chair to grab
something nearby (but not nearby enough), or off the floor.
Bit of doohickery in the works is required because when the cymbals bang together they need to separate almost immediately for the crash to reverberate, but when picking something up you want the pads to be able to close completely.
Manual or battery-operated.
this would work better but not be as cute!

I thought this would be a gadget that picks up the
Monkey-Cymabls Toy, cause they always fall down
when you watch them, for a long time. Not me mind
you, but others have told me this. |

You mean the toy or the watcher that falls down. |

[xandram] that's actually the one I'm familiar with; just replace the claw with a cymbals-monkey. |
|
|
I get it, but cymbal-monkeys aren't quite long
enough...unless they have arm extensions? |
|
|
Well... it could be a big cymbals monkey, or a smaller one with long arms... perhaps the post is misleading: I meant build a grabber as a cymbals monkey on a stick, rather than actually glue an existing toy monkey onto a grabber. |
